Acting CISA Director Brandon Wales and CISA Executive Assistant Director for Cybersecurity Eric Goldstein spoke about the SolarWinds and Microsoft attacks and the agency’s efforts to prevent similar future incidents. They also discussed incursions taking place at the state and local levels. Mr. Goldstein warned that the previous month’s assault on a Florida water plant should be a “clarion call for this country,” and calling the attack on an industrial control system the “gravest risk.” They also discussed how CISA would use $1 billion provided in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to secure the country’s cyber systems.
