Bill Mauldin served in the 45th Infantry Division during World War II and gained fame and the Pulitzer Prize for his “Willie and Joe” cartoons chronicling the everyday experiences of American troops at the front. Mauldin biographer Todd DePastino talked about the editorial cartoonist’s life and work, including his postwar career during which he received a second Pulitzer.
