Senate Republicans made remarks about the situation at the Texas-Mexico border after touring portions of the Rio Grande Valley with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. The senators remarked on what they called a “crisis” at the southern border, criticized the Biden administration’s approach to immigration, and called on President Biden and Vice President Harris to visit the border. Texas Senators John Cornyn (R) and Ted Cruz (R) hosted the delegation. close
