Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke after meeting with foreign ministers at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. The secretary discussed the need to reaffirm alliances and emphasized that the United States is fully committed to NATO. “We must recommit to our alliances and to the shared values that sustain them,” said Secretary Blinken. He also addressed the military threats posed by China and Russia. On China, Blinken stated, “There’s no question that Beijing’s coercive behavior threatens our collective security and prosperity.” In addition, he talked about the need adopt a holistic view of NATO burden sharing. close
