Secretary’s Christopher and Bentsen announced that the forum, held earlier in the day, to encourage international contributions for peace in the Middle East was a “rousing success.” Representatives from 46 countries attended the forum contributing $600 million for the first year and $2.4 billion the World Bank estimates is necessary for the five-year plan.
