Leon Ellis served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. His plane was shot down during a bombing run and he was held in North Vietnam as a prisoner of war for five years. Mr. Ellis recounted his years in captivity including the torture he endured. This interview is part of the Veterans History Project conducted by the Atlanta History Center’s Kenan Research Center. close
