Joseph Galloway was a correspondent for United Press International during the Vietnam War. He described his time in the war zone including his first day in country. In 1998, Mr. Galloway received the Bronze Star Medal with V for valor - the only American civilian to be awarded the medal for his actions during the Vietnam War. This interview is from the Veterans History Project, and was conducted by the Atlanta History Center’s Kenan Research Center. close
