Former Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) spoke about his concerns regarding the need to modernize U.S. nuclear weapons amid growing threats from China and Russia. Also participating in the Heritage Foundation discussion on nuclear deterrence were foreign policy experts who spoke about the changing situations with Russia and China. Experts from the Hudson Institute, Atlantic Council, and the National Institute of Public Policy spoke about America’s triad, consisting of land, submarine, and aircraft-based nuclear weapons and the country’s commitment to maintaining its nuclear stockpile. close
