A memorial service was held for Capitol Police Officer William “Billy” Evans, who died from injuries sustained when a man rammed a car into him and another officer on April 2. Attendees included President Biden and congressional leaders. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) offered condolences to Officer Evans' family and spoke about the trying time the Capitol Police force had faced in 2021. President Biden offered words of hope to the family and spoke about pulling through his own personal tragedies. close
