On September 11, 1945, Army Officer Jack Wilpers and others barged into the home of former Japanese Prime Minister Hideki Tojo to arrest him.  They found him bleeding from a gunshot wound in an attempted suicide.  With the deaths of Hitler and Mussolini, Tojo was the last major Axis leader of World War II. Former Associated Press reporter Chris Carola recalled his interviews with Jack Wilpers as he remembered the chaos of that day and the media attention that followed. This program is hosted by the MacArthur Memorial, who also provided the video. close
