The House Select Climate Crisis Committee held a hearing on modernizing the nation’s electric grid. Experts and professionals from the energy industry testified before the committee. Several topics were discussed, including investments in grid expansion and modernization, renewable energy, job creation, energy storage and capacity, and roadblocks due to permitting and regulations. They also discussed the impact of extreme climate events on the nation’s grid, such as wildfires, flooding, and freezing temperatures. close
