During the Revolutionary War, colonialists took up arms to try and gain their independence from England. However, there was a portion of the population that opposed the quest for independence and organized rebellions throughout the colonies. Travis Shaw gave insight into the reasons behind these rebellions and how these loyalists may have been misunderstood by history. Mr. Shaw was the education director for Virginia Piedmont Heritage Area. The Office of Historic Alexandria, in partnership with Emerging Revolutionary War, hosted this talk and provided the video. close
