The House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on International Development, International Organizations, and Global Corporate Social Impact held a hearing on U.S. leadership during the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Appearing before the subcommittee were Gayle Smith, global COVID-19 response coordinator for the State Department, and Jeremy Konundyk, executive director for USAID’s COVID-19 Task Force. They answered questions on a variety of topics, including global vaccine distribution and prioritization, supply chain concerns, China’s role in the pandemic, production capacity, and food security concerns. close
