Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen testified on the department’s proposed fiscal year 2022 budget before the House Ways and Means Committee. A variety of topics were discussed, including investments in infrastructure, reopening and rebuilding the economy after the coronavirus pandemic, closing the “tax gap,” fairness and equity in taxation, housing and child tax credits, and workforce shortages. They also addressed the minimum global tax rate of 15 percent, which was agreed upon during the recent G-7 Summit in Cornwall, England. close
