The House Select Modernization of Congress Committee held a hearing on efforts to foster bipartisanship and civility in the legislative branch. They discussed several topics, including relationship building, giving more power to the committees by decentralizing power from leadership, and the need to build in more working days on Capitol Hill to achieve legislative progress. They also discussed having more meetings behind closed doors, away from cameras, so that members can talk with one another and without being distracted by the need to score political points. close
