Regina LaBelle, acting director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson (R) joined other expert witnesses to testify on sentencing guidelines for crack versus powder cocaine possession and what Congress can do to reduce sentencing disparity between the two. Matthew Charles, who was convicted for crack cocaine possession and sentenced to more than 30 years in prison, spoke about the disparity and the need for changes.
