The House agreed to provide additional special immigrant visas for Afghan interpreters, contractors and other vulnerable allies, as the U.S. military prepares to leave the country. The measure sponsored by Representative Jason Crow ( D-CO) would open up extra slots in a visa program for Afghan allies at risk of persecution or death if they remain in Afghanistan. The vote was 407-16. close
