The House Science, Space and Technology Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics held a virtual hearing to examine NASA’S infrastructure priorities. Testifying during the hearing was Robert Gibbs, associate administrator for NASA’s mission support. Mr. Gibbs was questioned on a variety of topics, including the need for more funding, NASA’S maintenance backlog, climate change concerns and precautions, infrastructure investment, and mission safety. According to recent government reports, 83 percent of NASA’s infrastructure had passed its “design life,” with many of its buildings and facilities dating back several decades to the Apollo mission. close
