The Senate worked on a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill to fund roads, bridges, transit, water projects, airports, broadband internet, and electric vehicle charging stations. Majority Leader Schumer (D-NY) commented on the status of the bill, saying, “We are working on an agreement. As you know, we’ve been working all day but we aren’t there yet. As work continues on the agreement, I am filing cloture on both the substitute and the underlying bill for a Saturday vote.” Senators also advanced Eunice Lee’s judicial nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Members paid tribute to AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka, who died that day at age 72. close
