Retired Army Lieutenant General H.R. McMaster provided an assessment of the situation in Afghanistan at a virtual event hosted by the Wilson Center. The former national security adviser talked about the implications of the U.S. troop withdrawal, the recent Taliban territorial gains, counterterrorism strategy, and the humanitarian crisis in the region. He was interviewed by Wilson Center President Mark Green, who previously served as the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). close
