Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Kenneth McKenzie provided updates related to explosions in Kabul during evacuation efforts from Afghanistan. General McKenzie announced that 12 U.S. service members were killed and 15 injured in a suicide bombing at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. He also said there were multiple Afghan casualties. Despite the attack, the general said evacuation efforts were ongoing, but warned of the threat of additional attacks. close
