He went on to provide an update on the number of evacuees, saying that in the past 24 hours, approximately 12,500 were flown out of Hamid Karzai Airport. Among them were 300 Americans, bringing the total number of American citizens to 5,100. Since the evacuation began, approximately 111,000 evacuees had been flown out.
