Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke about future diplomatic efforts for Afghanistan as the U.S. completed its withdrawal from the country. He said the U.S. would operate diplomatically out of Doha, Qatar. He also said that between 100-200 Americans remained in Afghanistan and made assurances the U.S. would make all efforts to remove them safely. The secretary of state also addressed the future U.S.-Taliban relations, America’s intent to fight terrorism in the region, and working with international partners to provide humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. close
