He addressed a variety of topics, including climate change, women in the priesthood, the importance of the media, equity and civil rights, the treatment of Afghan evacuees, COVID-19 and vaccinations, and sex abuse scandals in the church. Cardinal Gregory is the first African American in the United States to be cardinal. close
