President Biden spoke from the East Room at the White House on his strategy to address global transportation supply chain issues related to the coronavirus pandemic. The president announced that the Port of Los Angeles would begin operating 24 hours a day to ease shipping container bottlenecks. He also said private companies such as Walmart, FedEx and UPS would begin around-the-clock operations to more quickly move goods around the country. He also spoke about the importance of passing infrastructure legislation to pay for improvements impacting the supply chain saying that “the world has changed,” and stressing the need to compete in a 21st century economy. close
