The Food and Drug Administration Advisory Committee met to discuss emergency use authorization for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in children ages 5 to 11 years old. FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials presented various data and topics, including the epidemiology of COVID-19 among children in this age group, post-COVID-19 symptoms, and vaccine dosage compared to older children. Pfizer officials presented clinical data on the safety and efficacy of the vaccine while FDA officials talked about their review of the submission. During the public meeting portion, the committee heard comments from the public, followed by an open discussion and vote on emergency use authorization. close
