Senator Manchin on Filibuster and Build Back Better
Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) spoke with the press on Capitol Hill. He answered a variety of questions, including those on the child tax credit, climate change, and voting rights. When asked about changing the filibuster along party lines, Senator Manchin said it was his “preference” that any rule changes be done with bipartisan agreement. Regarding President Biden’s social spending plan, the senator said that there has been no recent discussion with the White House, but that he is not closing off any further negotiations. close
