This forum focused on campaign finance reform and congressional mailing privileges. Several ideas were discussed to effect congressional reform. The Coalition to End Permanent Congress was begun in 1989.This group, formed by Congressional challengers of both major parties included some of the original principals in their original platform. These were banning political action committees and special interest contributions, banning mass mailings under the Congressional Franken Privileges, and Congress shall apply no law that does not apply to themselves and should act upon those that already exist. close
