The Senate approved Senator Rand Paul’s (R-KY) joint resolution to repeal the Centers for Disease Control’s COVID-19 mask-wearing rule on public transportation, and confirmed Shalanda Young’s nomination for Office of Management and Budget director, making Ms. Young first Black woman confirmed by the Senate to lead the OMB. Members also passed two measures by unanimous consent, one to make Daylight Saving Time permanent, and another in support of the Ukrainian people and condemning the actions of Russian President Putin. The Daylight Savings Term measure was sent on to the House of Representatives for consideration. close
