Senators Rob Portman (R-OH), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) spoke about their trip to Poland, along with Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), to address Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They called the actions of Russian President Putin and other Russian officials in Ukraine an atrocity. During their visit, the senators spoke with refugees and received briefings. During remarks on the floor, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) offered a resolution condemning President Putin for Russia’s alleged war crimes. The resolution passed by unanimous consent on the eve of the Ukrainian President’s speech to a joint meeting of Congress. close
