President Biden said the nation is in a new phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, one in which the virus no longer controls lives because of vaccines and treatment options available to the public. With all the progress, the president urged Congress to act on additional COVID-19 relief funding so the nation can continue to fight the pandemic. He also announced a new web tool, COVID.gov, to help people search for available vaccine sites, testing locations, and treatment options in their area. During this event, he president himself rolled up his sleeve receive his second booster shot. The Food and Drug Administration recently approved second booster shots for people age 50 and above and certain individuals who are immunocompromised. close
