Representative Fred Upton (R-MI) announced he would not seek a 19th term in office. He talked about bipartisanship and his accomplishments during his time in Congress. He tearfully thanked his wife, children, and constituents. After his remarks, Representative Debbie Dingell (D-MI), also in tears, spoke about Representative Upton, calling him a devoted public servant. She also talked about Representative Upton’s relationship with her late husband, John Dingell, who represented Michigan’s 12th Congressional District before her. close
