The Heritage Foundation hosted discussions on elected district attorneys, some of whom the panelists deemed “rogue prosecutors.” The panelists especially focused on George Gascon, the district attorney of Los Angeles County at the time of the event. The first panel compared the U.S. federal system with state and local systems and discussed how U.S. attorneys can play their part in prosecuting violent crimes. The second panel continued the conversation, talking about problems with bail reform and issues they have with progressive views of the justice system. close
