President Biden, while addressing the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers convention in Chicago, said that “the middle class built this country,” but that “unions built the middle class.” The president also thanked the union for its support, saying that the “only reason I am standing here as your president of the United States of America is because the IBEW came on with me early.” He also addressed job creation, infrastructure investment, affordable health care and child care, and the economy. close
