Canadian officials, including the Canadian minister of natural resources, and Alberta, Canada Premier Jason Kenney, testified at a Senate Energy Committee hearing on the importance of strengthening the U.S.-Canada energy partnership. The cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline and U.S. dependence on foreign oil and critical materials, energy security and gas prices dominated discussion. Other topics included building an integrated North American electric grid, clean energy, Canadian mining capacity, the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and investment in hydrogen, solar, and wind technologies. close
