NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told leaders gathered at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland that the NATO alliance has “learned a lesson” about free trade from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, referring to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline from Russia to Europe. “Freedom is more important than free trade, and protecting values is more important than protecting profits.” Mr. Stoltenberg also predicted Finland and Sweden would overcome objections from Turkey on their bids to become NATO members. close
