The House debated a Democratic bill intended to reduce gun violence in response to a recent spate of mass shootings. The legislation includes measures that would raise the age to buy a semi-automatic rifle from 18- to 21-years old, establish voluntary best practices for home gun storage, and ban the use of bump stocks for civilian use. Bump stocks are devices that allow a semi-automatic firearm to shoot more than one shot with a single pull of the trigger. close
