The White House COVID-19 Response Team discussed with reporters what a vaccine rollout would look like if the Food and Drug Administration authorizes use for children younger than five years of age. Other topics included COVID-19 funding for the 2022 fall and winter and data on vaccination rates among already-vaccinated children. An FDA advisory committee was expected to meet in mid-June on whether to authorize vaccines for this young population. If authorized, the Biden administration said shots would go into arms the earliest June 21, 2022. close
