Erik Woodhouse, deputy assistant secretary of state for counter threat finance and sanctions, discussed sanctions against Russia and whether they are working during a virtual conversation hosted by the Atlantic Council. He said even though Russia continues to wage war against Ukraine, sanctions are damaging the country’s economy. Other diplomats and scholars also spoke about the pros and cons of the sanctions, such as the consequences they are having on global oil and gas prices. close
