The Hudson Institute held a virtual discussion on Russia blocking Ukraine’s Black Sea ports and its impact on global food security. A panel of former government officials and military experts discussed a variety of topics including, Russia’s maritime strength in the Black Sea, potential U.S. military assistance to aid Ukraine ships, and a lack of NATO strategy in the Black Sea. They also discussed Russia’s intent to use the blocking of Ukraine’s ports to force a settlement while Russia steals Ukraine’s grain and sells it to allies like Syria. close
