President Biden announced an increase in the U.S. military presence in Europe amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He made the remarks before a meeting with the NATO secretary general at the beginning of a NATO summit in Madrid, Spain. The president said the U.S. would establish its first permanent presence in Poland, send two additional F-35 fighter jet squadrons to the United Kingdom and more air defense and other capabilities to Germany and Italy. close
