Immigration and Homeland Security officials from during the Trump administration discussed challenging the Biden administration’s immigration policies in court. Former Acting Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli and former Acting U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Joseph Edlow spoke about the Biden administration’s attempt to end the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) (also referred to as the “Remain in Mexico” policy) and to lift Title 42, a Trump administration health protocol that denied entry to immigrants because of the coronavirus pandemic. The panel, which also included Center for Immigration Studies Law and Policy Fellow Andrew Arthur, talked about ways to force future administrations to enforce existing immigration laws. close
