The House Foreign Affairs Committee held a virtual hearing on U.S. policy towards Africa. Key experts discussed topics including Russia and China influence, U.S. and Africa trade relations, the COVID-19 pandemic response, global supply chain, energy, infrastructure, and the emerging technology and entertainment industry in Africa. The hearing centered around ways the U.S can best partner with African countries in the future. Witnesses included Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, World Trade Organization director; Rama Yade, former French deputy minister on foreign affairs and human rights; Donald Kaberuka, African Union high representative for financing; and Todd Moss, former deputy assistant secretary of state for the George W. Bush administration. close
