FBI Director Christopher Wray focused on the rise in violent crime during a Senate Judiciary Committee oversight hearing, stressing to lawmakers the issue is a “real problem” nationwide and one the agency is working on with local partners. Director Wray also highlighted China’s espionage efforts in the U.S., saying the FBI opens an investigation approximately every 12 hours into the spying activity. Committee members also pressed him on other topics including the Hunter Biden investigation, political bias, the rise in hate crimes, mass shootings, and election security. close
