The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing to discuss a Justice Department task force addressing threats against election officials. Witnesses included officials from the Justice Department, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), two secretaries of state, the National Association of State Election Directors (NASED), law enforcement and others. Topics included maliciously shared personal information, death threats, and election security. Republican lawmakers argued the Justice Department should focus equal time to threats against law enforcement, Supreme Court justices, and “pro-life” organizations. close
