Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (R-CA) decision whether to visit Taiwan is entirely her own. He warned China it should not take any escalatory actions if the speaker does visit. The secretary’s comments came during a news conference on the importance of the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty (NPT) at the United Nations in New York City. The secretary and other world leaders were at the U.N. to attend a review conference on the treaty. close
