The state officials spoke about the numerous death threats they received during the 2020 election amid accusations of election fraud by former President Trump. They recommended unified laws to protect workers as well as increased funding and resources for election administration. Other topics included the role of social media in countering misinformation, “deep fakes” (digitally altered videos), and attempts to educate the public about elections.
