The House considered a suspension bill that would require Medicare Advantage plans that impose prior authorization requirements for medical procedures to establish an electronic prior authorization process. Lawmakers considered measures for protections for federal employees and whistleblowers as well as changes to U.S. Census Bureau operations, and they approved several suspension bills that were debated earlier in the week. Also, Representative Hal Rogers (R-KY), elected in 1981, was recognized as the most senior member of the House of Representatives. Representative Rogers became the “dean” of the House when Representative Don Young (R-AK), who had served since 1973, died earlier in the year. close
