During a University of Louisville McConnell Center event in Kentucky, Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) said her next big legislative goal is to address border security and the immigration system. She added after the midterm elections she intended to try to work with Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) to something done on the issue. Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell (R-KY), of whom the center is named after, invited the Arizona senator to speak on bipartisanship. In her speech, Senator Sinema also talked about why she is against eliminating the Senate filibuster’s 60-vote threshold and how she has successfully worked with Republicans to accomplish things such as the infrastructure law and the guns deal following the Uvalde, Texas school shooting. close
