Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) and Scott Jensen, his Republican challenger in the state’s 2022 governor race, participated in a debate hosted by KTTC-TV in Rochester, Minnesota. During the debate, the candidates were asked questions on topics including the 2020 George Floyd protests, race relations, and abortion. Governor Walz was considered the favorite to win, up an average of 6.3 points over his opponent in polling conducted in the weeks prior to this debate, according to Real Clear Politics. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report with Amy Walter rated the race “likely Democrat.” close
